So I've been 5 days in Bergen. Starting te become an e-teacher. It's thursday in the afternoon and I'm at school, teached several groups. Yes, I do enjoy teaching as an ordinary teacher with a pen, paper, DVD. Later on I'll enjoy E teaching.
It has been intensive interesting days. Bergen is a nice place to stay. Unfortunably we has been al lot of time in the classroom. Luckily Anne Karin en Grete Oline showed us several beautifull places of Norway. I will never forget Ligra with its beatifull view.
Well, when I look back to 5 days in Bergen. The course was interesting but also overwhelming. I learn a lot about computers, about E teaching, the meaning of E learning. How te be an E guide and how to use several tools and skills. The tools and skills confused me a bit but i'm gonna try to use some of them. A reflection about myself I don't have to know all the tools at this moment.
About working with computers. Almost everything is new. Igoogle, flickr, add files in the right construction ( tree),. We'ved surfed around a lot. One of the main important things I've learned is that I ought to "read"my screen. It will help me to te get used to programs and be the boss of the computer. At the end of these five days, at the airport I realise that I'm a student not a teacher. That gives me peace in mind.
Thougts:
* Make a lecture in about 10 minutes (not to long). Think about triggers and questions.
* E learning is different but als simular to regular teaching.
Be sure that the learning proces is a safe place for students and think how you can create a safe atmosphere
* Be a guide in the learning proces.
* Ask in a friendly way
* Get used to use Icons to express feelings.
* Ask students about their feelings and be interested. In Dutch we called behave like an OEN!
O Open
E Honest
N Curious.
* Give students a good reflection about their work. Be an example in your reflection to them. Reflection is important. Poor students in Haarlem the next weeks....
When I look back at 5 days in Bergen. It realy changed my way of thinking. Well I can talk more about tools and even about the ones I still don't understand. I don't think that this is interesting for the reader. I've gone thrue a part of the process students do. Doubts, insecureness, lack of knowledge, exploring, fun, nice food, proudness, beatifull sights, Friendly people i've had it all.
Yes in Norway I started to be a blogger and will become an e - teacher.

Dear Wim,
ReplyDeleteIt is interesting to read your reflection of what comes to your mind after these 5 days. In all learning it is important to take step by step. I understand very well that all the information and all the different tools are overwhelming in the beginning. But I think that after a while starting to think like an e-teacher you will be happy to be able to use the tools.
I hope you will respond more directly to the questions I gave you before you left. You will also find them in the course under campus week, and you can see in the blogs from the two other guys how to do this.
I wish you all the best with your further work.
